“Django Unchained” is a 2012 film directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film tells the story of Django (played by Jamie Foxx), a slave in the Antebellum South who is freed by a German bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz (played by Christoph Waltz). The two form an unlikely alliance and set out to rescue Django’s wife, Broomhilda (played by Kerry Washington), from the clutches of the evil plantation owner, Calvin Candie (played by Leonardo DiCaprio).

Critics generally praised the film for its strong performances, particularly from Foxx and Waltz, as well as its sharp and often humorous dialogue. The film’s cinematography, score, and action scenes were also well received. However, some criticized the film’s handling of the sensitive subject matter, as well as its sometimes over-the-top violence.

Despite these criticisms, “Django Unchained” was a commercial success, grossing over $425 million worldwide, and received several award nominations, including for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Waltz. The film remains one of Quentin Tarantino’s most well-regarded works, and is considered a classic of modern filmmaking.
